Sarah has a calendar this year, counting down the days til Christmas. On Thursday, she was so ready that "I want to go to Friday" kept coming out, even tears because she wanted Christmas so much. Who could blame her...all those presents under the tree, the Christmas party at playschool, Santa, the decorations and lights around. I would want to go to Friday, too!
P.S. We let her open one present from Aunt Margee early since she's been such a good girl...a Tinker Bell jewelry set. Thank you, Aunt Margee!

First Santa
At first, Sarah was scared and hid behind a pillar. We ate, window shopped, and came back, with the idea that maybe Geoffrey wanted to see Santa. So she gave it a try, daddy just out of camera shot. Still a little nervous and shy, Sarah did it and even told Santa a few things she wanted for Christmas.

Double Rainbow (all the way!)
Or maybe just a single rainbow, but after leaving Sarah alone to paint for a few minutes, I came back to this masterpiece. :)

Pun'kin Patch
Sarah had fun visiting a "Pumpkin Patch" near Arcadia. Actually, it was more a fall time fair with pony rides, tire swings, lots of hay, and a petting zoo.

More Toys!
Sarah became instantly entranced by Polly Pocket the other day after seeing her on a commercial (darn commercials!), especially the mermaid edition. She seems fully into what other girls enjoy--jewelry and makeup, babies and other dolls, mermaids and ballerinas, and stuffed animals. However, Sarah can do without these other toys. :)
Currently, Sarah likes mommy's and daddy's ipods, of course, but also enjoys playing with Barbie, Little People, her doll house, and periodic coloring.
P.S. This is not a post for Sarah to get more toys!

First Day of School
Sarah took a big step today and started preschool! She will go for a few hours, three days a week, spending time with about 10 other 3-year-olds doing art projects, running around the playground, and listening to stories. The social interaction (with actions and noises) will challenge her to start, but the teacher said she had a really good first day!

YouTube Favs
Well, you know Sarah is expert at using the iPod, so it's only commonsense she would stumble upon YouTube and use her spelling talents to search the contents. Following are some videos she has enjoyed recently (some with parental help, of course):
1. Sometimes we search YouTube for various instruments. Sarah likes the flute, accordion, and clarinet.
2. Music videos are popular and include Funky Town, Sarasponda, and, Lady GaGa.
3. Makeup!
4. And miscellaneous vids...an adult slide, tornadoes, and Clair de Lune (from her love of the moon).
Yes, Sarah is eclectic. :D

My First Camp (and other things)
Sarah went to her first "camp" this past week, a two-hour-a-day affair at the Gymboree she has visited regularly already for over two years now. In it, the six or seven kids learned how to play sports like soccer, kickball, t-ball, and golf, as well as doing art activities and just hanging out.
Being her first big-girl camp made it the first time she was dropped off and left in the care of others (outside relatives, of course) as well. The teacher said she did very well, though, only crying a bit for daddy the first day. "You wouldn't have know it was her first time to be dropped off," she said. Most probably, it was more difficult for daddy than it was for her (but don't let her know that). :) This was a good primer for Sarah; next month she will start preschool 2-3 days a week for 2-3 hours each day, so it's good to know she can leave daddy for a bit and be okay.
In other news, Sarah has grown almost two inches in the last two months! She is eating much better, now using a fork and spoon to shovel in various foods like noodles, chicken fingers, rice, bread, and bananas. We're happy to see her eating more since Sarah has had troubles with food for a long time.
Also, Sarah's newest expressions--picked up from camp or parents, no doubt--are "I'll be right back" (when leaving the room) and "Nope. No luck." (when looking for something and not finding it in a place). She's currently into Dora the Explorer, Caillou, imaginative play with her dollies, makeup (yes, makeup) and coloring.
Check back soon for more updates!

A Big Adventure
Sarah and Mommy had a great time visiting her aunt Meg, uncle Craig, and Grammy in Georgia this past week. She got to play on the beach of Tybee Island, shop in Savannah, ride a horse-drawn carriage, and eat lots of ice cream! Her new words from the trip are "palm tree" and "big adventure."

Artsy Stuff
We braved the heat and took Sarah to the Paseo Arts Festival today. She got a dolphin painted on her arm and made a magic princess wand!
