YouTube Favs

Well, you know Sarah is expert at using the iPod, so it's only commonsense she would stumble upon YouTube and use her spelling talents to search the contents. Following are some videos she has enjoyed recently (some with parental help, of course):

1. Sometimes we search YouTube for various instruments. Sarah likes the flute, accordion, and clarinet.
2. Music videos are popular and include Funky Town, Sarasponda, and, Lady GaGa.
3. Makeup!
4. And miscellaneous vids...an adult slide, tornadoes, and Clair de Lune (from her love of the moon).

Yes, Sarah is eclectic. :D

My First Camp (and other things)

Sarah went to her first "camp" this past week, a two-hour-a-day affair at the Gymboree she has visited regularly already for over two years now. In it, the six or seven kids learned how to play sports like soccer, kickball, t-ball, and golf, as well as doing art activities and just hanging out.

Being her first big-girl camp made it the first time she was dropped off and left in the care of others (outside relatives, of course) as well. The teacher said she did very well, though, only crying a bit for daddy the first day. "You wouldn't have know it was her first time to be dropped off," she said. Most probably, it was more difficult for daddy than it was for her (but don't let her know that). :) This was a good primer for Sarah; next month she will start preschool 2-3 days a week for 2-3 hours each day, so it's good to know she can leave daddy for a bit and be okay.

In other news, Sarah has grown almost two inches in the last two months! She is eating much better, now using a fork and spoon to shovel in various foods like noodles, chicken fingers, rice, bread, and bananas. We're happy to see her eating more since Sarah has had troubles with food for a long time.

Also, Sarah's newest expressions--picked up from camp or parents, no doubt--are "I'll be right back" (when leaving the room) and "Nope. No luck." (when looking for something and not finding it in a place). She's currently into Dora the Explorer, Caillou, imaginative play with her dollies, makeup (yes, makeup) and coloring.

Check back soon for more updates!
